On 21 January 2025, a meeting of the alumni network of our Master's programme in Landscape Sciences (LaWi) took place, to which current Master's students were also invited. The purpose of the meeting was for the alumni to share and introduce their current professional activities to each other and for the students to gain insights into possible future professional fields. In total, alumni from three companies presented their work, including a planning office with the departments of soil protection and waste, nature and species conservation and aerial image evaluation and historical exploration, an electricity grid operator and a municipal infrastructure company. In addition to insights into the main areas of work and workflows, the alumni particularly emphasised the special skills from the LaWi that prepared them for their professions. There was time for personal exchange over drinks and snacks after the presentations, and the students took the opportunity to talk to the alumni about their work, possible internships and final theses.
